MIYAKO

Located off the northeastern coast of Taiwan, the Japanese island of Miyako is ringed with white sand beaches and surrounded by crystal clear blue-green waters ideal for snorkeling and freediving. This idyllic Japanese island seemed the perfect inspiration for the HELM Miyako, which is fitted with the venerable Miyota 9015 or 9039 movement. The watch also features a 316L stainless steel case and bracelet, screw-down caseback and crown, domed sapphire crystal and bezel, highly legible dial and a 200m depth rating. With a case diameter of 40mm, the ISO 6425 compliant Miyako is perfectly sized for any adventure, in or out of the water.

Traditional Japanese patterns, or wagara, are often based on patterns found in nature, and are widely used on textiles, ceramics and other everyday objects in Japan. The seigaiha pattern, which literally translates to “blue ocean waves” and was originally used to depict water on maps, evokes the power and tranquillity of the sea, and symbolizes waves of good fortune, prosperity and enduring peace. Named for a Japanese island and designed for a life beneath the waves, the Miyako is adorned with our own seigaiha pattern to symbolize the adventure, abundance and harmony that the ocean represents.

Available with a gray or navy blue dial and date or no-date variations, the Miyako also includes the NS2 Nylon Strap―an excellent option in the water and a casual, lighter weight alternative to the included stainless bracelet. With a standard 22mm lug width, the Miyako can also be dressed down with limitless aftermarket straps, including our own NS1 and NS3 nylon straps, RS1 and RS2 rubber straps, the CS1 canvas strap or the LS1 and LS2 leather straps.
